November 18-22, 2002: Join the North American Week of Housing Action!

17 Planned Actions and counting!

Last year, the November 14 National Day of Housing Action built critical momentum for the National Affordable Housing Trust Fund Campaign, a nationwide effort to produce new housing in volumes not seen since the New Deal. Affordable housing construction also means new jobs in these hard times, but many federal politicians have not yet committed to this needed legislation.

This year, during the week of November 18-22, we -- people experiencing homelessness, students, union workers, religious communities, and housing organizations -- will demand that politicians endorse the Trust Fund and stop the loss of subsidized housing nation-wide. We will do so by organizing local actions designed to draw attention to both the current housing crisis and a solution to it.

Please let us know your state or local organization's plans for the Week of Housing Action by notifying Right to a Roof!, part of the San Francisco Coalition On Homelessness at housingworkgroup@yahoo.com. The North American Week of Housing Action is presented by Right to a Roof!, the National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness, and the National Coalition for the Homeless.
